Many enthusiasts regard the early Pre-A 356 Coupes as the among the most desirable of the range.
With original Pre-A cars trading at £200k + Speedster Clinic have finally been able to respond to customers requests for Pre- A kits.
Built to the specification of a 1955 car, the Speedster Clinic offering accurately reflects every detail of Pre-A specification with specially sourced components and carefully crafted body shell.
Their appeal is difficult to fathom. After all, the later cars with their more sophisticated detailing, large screens and arguably better proportions can perhaps lay claim to an elegance that the Pre A cars lack. Yet the charm and simplicity of the Pre -A is perhaps more truly reflective of the essence of the concept. The pre-A still shows the traces of the transformation of simple VW mechanical components, in times of constraint and austerity, into the sophisticated GT that the 356 was to become.
As with all Speedster Clinic products robust construction and ease of assembly are essential features of the new kits. Pre A replicas are not currently being offered anywhere else in the UK, or indeed anywhere else in Europe, so Speedster Clinic look forward to strong demand from enthusiasts all across Europe.

Why use the Speedster Clinic Chassis?
For many years’ speedster/coupe recreations have been based on a traditional shortened VW chassis. This popular method uses beetle floors with a bolt on sub frame to fit the body.
Speedster Clinic Chassis is different!
We start with a beetle donor floor pan, remove the standard floors and replace the frame-head with a tubular adjustable frame head.
We then add all new floor sections, outer sub chassis and fixed one-piece CAD designed bulkhead, this is then welded into an all new box section outer chassis added to this are laser cut CNC bent sill sections that make for a super stiff chassis. Our completed chassis includes, seat belt mounts, Speedster Clinic super heating ducting for foot well and windscreen, and integral seat mounts.
There are many advantages to the Speedster Clinic chassis, this is down to the design and construction, our super stiff chassis maximizes space this then caters for the tallest drivers in complete comfort.
With the short wheelbase of a speedster/coupe (300mm shorter than standard Beetle) We build integral seat base mounts that are moved back and more centrally mounted compared to those on a traditional shortened VW chassis, this, combined with our all new floors and outer sills make for much stiffer chassis. Our increased cabin size and safer stronger chassis make for a more enhanced driving experience.
PLEASE NOTE:
YOU CAN'T USE A STANDARD VW STERRING BOX SETUP WITH OUR CHASSIS, YOU MUST EITHER FIT YOUR OWN STEERING RACK OR USE OUR UPGRADED RACK KIT.
THE CHASSIS AND SELECTED BODY WILL COME AS A MONOCOQUE CHASSIS WITH THE BODY BONDED TO THE CHASSIS.
